I don't know that many women when asked a favorite part of there body would say vagina. Breasts sure I could see that. I think normally we would pick a softer feature. I would say for me being a woman it would be my hips. That to me is the epitome of being a woman, and something I'm very proud of. Sign In. Women can experience some odd body changes after pregnancy , but for one mother in Austria, those changes were particularly unusual: A rare condition caused her to lactate from her vulva after childbirth, according to a new report of the case. The year-old woman had recently given birth to her second child when she developed severe pain on the right side of her vulva. Doctors noticed she had a lot of swelling in an area where she had received sutures, and they thought she had developed an abscess. But it was actually something much rarer. The woman said that four days after giving birth, she developed swelling on both sides of her vulva and noticed the release of a "milky white" fluid from the area. She said she'd had similar swelling in her vulva after her first pregnancy. Doctors then suspected that the woman had "ectopic" breast tissue , or breast tissue that's found somewhere in the body outside the breast, and the tissue was lactating. Indeed, when doctors performed an ultrasound of the area, they could see that the tissue looked just like lactating breast tissue, except that it was on the vulva. It appeared that the right side was particularly swollen and painful because the sutures were covering an "excretory duct" for the milk. Richard Mayer, of the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Gynecologic Endocrinology at Kepler University Hospital in Austria, who treated the patient, said he had never seen a case like this before.

As pregnancy hormones increase the blood supply to your breasts, you may notice a prickling or tingling sensation around your nipples. This can be one of the first signs that you're pregnant. This is a common sign of pregnancy, and is usually noticeable after the four week mark. Since the tissue in your breasts is incredibly hormone sensitive, they swell and feel a lot heavier as progesterone and hCG start flooding the body and increasing blood volume after fertilisation. As early as four weeks into pregnancy your vulva and vagina can change colour, so you may notice this before any other symptoms. As the amount of blood being supplied to the area increases, it can turn vaginal skin from pink to dark purplish or red. Noticing extra vaginal discharge is extremely common in early pregnancy. Pregnancy can also make you more prone to bouts of thrush, so if you notice unusual changes in discharge appearance or smell, make a trip to your GP. You may dismiss it as period pains, but stomach twinges or cramps can be triggered by implantation - when the fertilised egg attaches to the uterine wall. If you notice cramps or tummy pains that aren't followed by a period, take a pregnancy test.

One of the perks of writing about sex is that when you disclose this information at cocktail parties, people tend to confess scandalous tidbits, and in this case, very useful information. Still, this one was a show-stopper. I looked at the gorgeous attorney standing before me, sipping from her beer. She was glowing as she awaited my response. It was clear she'd been dying to share her, er, achievement with me.

I had to confess to her that I wasn't all that familiar with the breast O. The idea of a woman experiencing an orgasm without any genital stimulation sounded perplexing. But I couldn't wait to find out more. The attorney explained that the orgasm she felt wasn't just in her nipples, but throughout her breasts -- though more intense around the areolas.

Later that night, I did a little research, and found there's some pretty sound scientific evidence in medical journals for the breast O. Here's what I learned:. This boost makes your breasts super sensitive, and quite a bit larger. I'll take sexually induced hormonal surges over a Victoria Secret push-up any day!

Here's the science behind that claim from the Journal of Sexual Medicine , Volume 8, :. Female participants were asked to lie inside an fMRI machine and alternate between stimulating the clitoris, vagina, cervix and nipple. An experimenter instructed the women to "comfortably" stimulate one of those body parts for 30 seconds, then to rest for 30 seconds before repeating the process with a different part of the body.

All participants were asked to simulate themselves in the exact same way to keep the results as constant as possible e. The researchers discovered that stimulation of the nipple activated an area of the brain known as the genital sensory cortex.

This is the same brain region activated by stimulation of the clitoris, vagina and cervix. What this means is that women's brains seem to process nipple and genital stimulation in the same way. In light of this, it is not at all surprising that many women are aroused by having their nipples touched and that, for some, this may be enough to lead to orgasm. Jennifer Wider , your nipples go from a pale to deeper hue the more you're aroused.

This makes sense, given that your blood flow increases when you're turned on. This sexy nipple visual may be what it takes to send you over the edge. Some women may love having their nipples twisted or bitten while others might find this painful.

Also, breast sensitivity changes with our menstrual cycles , so what we may literally like one week, we won't stand the next. The mysterious rhythm of our bodies is kind of exciting! US Edition U.
